Selecting an Agent

Questions to ask when selecting an agent

You’re making a big financial decision and it’s essential that you develop a good partnership with your real estate agent. You will be working with them as a team to achieve the best price for your home.

Don’t hesitate to ask as many questions as you need to such as:

1.    Are you a fully licenced Real Estate Agent?
2.    How long have you worked in our suburb or area?
3.    How much experience have you had in selling properties comparable to ours?
4.    How much did these properties sell for and when?
5.    What is your top and bottom estimate for the sale of our property?
6.    How much commission do you charge and is it negotiable?
7.    Can you provide the details of a past client for us to contact?
8.    Can you provide an example of what the marketing schedule might look like?
9.    What is your companies market share in our suburb?
10.  Why should I use your agency to sell my property?
11.  Who will handle the day to day running of the campaign?
12.  Will the auctioneer be hands on with the campaign?
13.  Does your company have a dedicated PR consultant?
14.  What is your buyer management strategy?
15.  What is your Auction day strategy?
